Overview
This Defender 110 is the kind of build that instantly separates itself from the typical restored truck. Originally restored by East Coast Rover to full Puma specification, it was taken down and rebuilt with the level of detail, finish quality, and usability that has made ECR one of the most respected names in the Defender world. The result is an exceptional 110 that blends classic Defender character with the refinement, drivability, and presence of a modern bespoke build.
During the restoration, the truck received the desirable Puma-style upgrades throughout, giving it a far more finished and contemporary feel than a standard vintage Defender. The interior has been fully converted to a complete black cabin, creating a clean, purposeful, and upscale environment that suits the character of the build perfectly. It feels rugged where it should, but far more composed and premium than the original truck ever could.
After the ECR restoration, the original TDi powertrain was replaced by Safari HP with a new LS3 V8 paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. With only 2,000 miles on the LS3 conversion and approximately 10,000 miles since the full restoration, this Defender offers the rare combination of proven usability, modern power, and extremely limited post-build mileage. The automatic gearbox transforms the driving experience, making it significantly easier and more enjoyable around town, on the highway, and in everyday use.
This is not a lightly refreshed Defender or a cosmetic build. It is a properly executed, high-level restoration with the right names attached to it, the right upgrades, and the kind of specification that would be both expensive and time-consuming to replicate today. A comparable build would likely exceed $300,000 and require a one- to two-year wait, making this an opportunity to acquire a completed, sorted, and highly desirable Defender 110 without starting from scratch.
Finished with its full Puma-spec presentation, black interior, LS3 V8 power, six-speed automatic transmission, and just 10,000 miles since restoration, this Defender 110 represents the best version of what these trucks have become: iconic design, modern performance, and true bespoke craftsmanship in one of the most recognizable silhouettes ever built.
